My name is Yamuna Forzani, I am a biological female, I am heterosexual, I am cis-gendered, I am feminine
But this does not exclude me from being queer. Queer is a social awareness, it's the anti label. An umbrella term that refers to people who feel they are outside the social norms. In my thesis I explained why this is relevant and asked the question: 'What is the future of gender?' Gender evolution is very important and society needs to get rid of binaries and embrace the spectrum. I think it's vital that one is willing to ask questions in order to work on shifting the way we think about how people identify. I have been influenced by the idea of queer utopia and I want to embody that and share my utopian ideal. I will present a tableau vivant, which will include a mixture of clothing and objects to translate my vision of the future celebrating hybrid generation that understands that 'nature is fuzzy and society tries to draw a line on it'.
